JamesThis was exactly what was missing when buying food, living in Chicago the past several years, getting to see where our food comes from. What we appreciate most about Applecheek Farm is how it is unconditionally open to the community. ~ Riviello Family >>> More Testimonials

Applecheek Farm
John, with wife, Judy bought ten cows in 1965 and rented a farm in Hyde Park.  In 1969, they purchased and named the farm “Applecheek Farm”.  For over thirty years Applecheek Farm was an award winning conventional dairy farm with a herd of 120 registered Holsteins.

Due to low milk prices and inflated farming expenses, the Clarks made the decision to transition the dairy to a certified organic operation and began to diversify the farm in 1993.  With innovation in mind and an emphasis on community events, the clarks added emus, llama treks, sleigh rides and farm tours on the farm.

With a growth in visitors and interaction on the farm, the Clarks built a large community hall and small meeting room where their son and chef Jason operates his catering business.

Forty five years after John and Judy started farming in Hyde Park, young John Jr. is in the process of taking over the family farm with his wife, Rocio and their two children Sophia and Forrest.
