Call ahead and make a reservation for a farm tour, or choose from one of our many other activities offered here at the farm.

Applecheek Farm offers a wide variety of events that lets you enjoy our beautiful, natural setting and expansive facilities year round. All events are memorable, learning experiences for young and old alike.

Our experienced staff will work with you to select one or create a custom schedule of activities that perfectly suits your family's or group's interests.

Sleigh Rides:

Sparky and Sam, our team of gentle Belgians draft horses welcome you to a sleigh rideswonderful ride, in daylight or in moonlight through a lantern lit forest! Dress warmly and bring your camera. Bring along your voices and instruments. The sleigh ride takes about 45 minutes as Sparky and Sam take you through the beauty of Vermont in winter.

 

Llama Treks:

llama trekHike through wilderness trails & beautiful meadows. Enjoy our delicious picnic from our own organic vegetables, organic pasture-raised meats & maple syrup. Farm tour included. Nature scavenger hunt provided. * Maximum 10 people per Trek

Llama Info: Llamas are in the Camelid family. Also, camels, alpacas, guanacos and vicunas belong to the Camelid family. Camelids originated on the central plains of North America 40 million years ago. Three million years ago, Camelids migrated to South America. Llamas were domesticated from guanacos in the Andean Highlands of Peru 4-5000 years ago. Among the oldest domesticated animals in the world. Since that time, people have been bringing them back to the United States. There are about 200,000 registered
• Life span: 20 - 25 years
• Height: 3'- 4' at shoulder, 5'- 6' at head.
• Weight: 250 - 400 pounds
• Llamas eat pasture grasses, hay, and a grain concentrate and minerals. They have a three compartment stomach. They chew a cud.

 

Horse-Drawn Wagon Rides:

Horse drawn on country roads, with magnificent views, gorgeous sunsets and horse drawn wagon ridesbrilliant foliage in the fall. We offer wagon rides that will take you back to the "good old days." You can enjoy the flavor of the nature of Vermont as our horse-drawn hay wagon takes you through the beauty of the nearby countryside. Stop long enough for a Farm Tour (visit the llamas, emus, dairy barn, goats) and a complimentary refreshing beverage.
